Moche Project

About Us

The Moche Project derives its name from the Moche or Mochica culture which flourished in Peru from 100-700 AD. This culture was known among other things for their artistic techniques in the working with clay, gold and silver and the use of color.

Although the gallery does not deal in archeological artifacts they recognize the importance of the evolution of art from these ancient cultures to contemporary art through time still giving us glimpses of our history and traditions.

The Moche Project has become a “must” for serious collectors of Latin American Art as well as a first stop for new collectors who wish to learn about the field from the Project’s knowledgeable and friendly staff. The gallery consults for museums, auction houses and private collectors. Known for its good taste, expertise and scholarship, The Moche Project is also well known for its inviting atmosphere and unpretentious character.

Since 2012 Moche Project’s founder has contributed in establishing Latin American Art as an art category for serious collectors and beginers alike.
